Self-Care In 30 Minutes Or Less!

Self-care doesn’t have to be a big event. There are small things you can do to help yourself feel better throughout the day, every day. See what you need from yourself to feel better and pick an activity from the list. You can do this!

  • I need rest and relaxation:
    • Try doing something to help take your mind off of things. Rest and relaxation are supposed to be beneficial—but to do them, you need to give yourself a break. Let go of any expectations you have. Try one of these things:
      • Take a timeout
      • Listen to music
      • Watch a movie
      • Take a warm bath
      • Read a book
      • Take a nap
  • I need expression:
    • Try doing something that gets your creativity flowing. Expression means getting your feelings out there. You don’t always have to make something for others to see. Sometimes the best thing to do is to make something for yourself. Try one of these things:
      • Draw or paint
      • Write
      • Sing and dance
      • Gardening
      • Any other hobby you love
  • I need companionship:
    • Humans crave other humans. Companionship is a necessity of life. If you are feeling alone, try not to isolate yourself even more. Try one of these things:
      • Call a family member
      • Grab coffee with a friend
      • Write a letter to someone special
  • I need health and spirituality:
    • Making sure you are physically and spiritually healthy is an important thing to do for yourself. Self-care is about doing something for yourself, so do what you need to do. Try one of these things:
      • Practice yoga
      • Read daily affirmations
      • Meditate or pray
      • Eat a healthy snack
      • Drink plenty of water
      • Go for a walk

Don’t overthink self-care. These are quick and easy things that you can do in 30 minutes or less. You don’t need an abundance of time to complete these activities. Take one thing you’re interested in and try it today.
