What Do I Do After A Relapse?

Pinnacle Recovery wants to be the first one to tell you that it is okay. Life isn’t easy. Relapses happen. Of course, we don’t wish for a relapse to happen; however, we know that they do occasionally happen. It is okay. We are here to help you get back on your feet.

What’s done is done

You can’t change the past. You can’t change what’s happened. You can only learn from it and move forward. You must commit to choosing recovery right now. You must choose recovery tomorrow morning from the moment you wake up. You must choose recovery each and every day forward.

Manage your expectations

No one is perfect. We don’t expect you to be perfect and you shouldn’t expect perfection from yourself either. No one enjoys setbacks, but they can happen. The important thing is what you do when it does happen. Do you give in and let the relapse become a habit? Or, do you realize the relapse and work toward making better decisions? We want to help you choose the latter.

Hold yourself accountable

We want to help you make better decisions once you realize your relapse. Do you need a strict, inpatient treatment program? Or, do you think you could benefit from an intensive outpatient program? We are here to help you make that decision. Holding yourself accountable means that you know you must get the help you need and deserve. There’s no slacking off when it comes to addiction treatment. There’s no shame in deciding that you need a higher level of care then what you are currently receiving. That is what we are here for.

Commit to recovery

You must stay dedicated. You must stay focused. You must be committed to your recovery. Pinnacle Recovery is here to help you do these things. We vow to have a welcoming place for you to get the care you need. Our team is ready to help you take this leap of faith. You can do it. We will help you.
