Dr. Heather Wark grew up in Nevada and then obtained a Bachelors’s in Neuroscience from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
She spent several years traveling and working around the globe, then completed a combined M.D.-Ph.D. program at the University of Utah where she specialized in neuroscience and mental health. She completed her psychiatry residency at the University of Utah and is dedicated to working in addiction medicine. Her psychiatry practice is unique, in that she works toward whole-health treatment plans for each client individually. When possible, she will work with you to minimize medications at the earliest and safest opportunity. She will also spend time teaching you about medications to treat addiction.
Most people with addiction do not know about the available medications to help assist them with recovery (called Medication-Assisted Treatment or MAT). Dr. Wark assures that all of the people who come to Pinnacle are taught about their options, and she will work with you to decide if MAT is appropriate to help with your recovery.
